How does Trade Safe Transfers work?

Trade Safe Transfers is an easy, secure app that puts the power back into your hands. Your funds are held safely until the job is done right, protecting both the tradie and the consumer.

Where is the money held until release?

Your money is held in escrow through our partner and payment platform, Zai. Trade Safe Transfers has no access to or control over the funds while they are held there.

How do I know that my funds are secure?

Your funds are safely held in escrow. They cannot be accessed, removed or used until both parties agree to their release.

Is there a minimum and a maximum amount a job can cost?

Yes. The minimum job amount is $50, and the maximum is $100,000.

How are funds released?

Once the job is completed, both the tradie and the consumer must approve the work before funds are released. This makes sure the work is done correctly. Funds cannot be released until both parties have approved.

Are there milestones, or are all the funds released at once?

Yes, Trade Safe Transfers offers milestones. A portion of the funds is released to the tradie as each task is completed. The number of milestones available depends on the size of the job: the larger the job, the more milestones you can set.

Do I have to use milestones?

No, milestones are optional. If both the tradie and the consumer agree, the whole cost of the job can be released as a single payment on completion.

What if the consumer doesn't approve the release of funds?

Our highly trained dispute resolution team will work towards a solution that suits both parties. The tradie is still paid fairly for their work, and the consumer is looked after on the quality of the outcome. The money remains in escrow until a resolution is reached.

How does Trade Safe Transfers remain impartial to both parties?

Trade Safe Transfers acts as an independent third party. We do not represent either the tradie or the consumer.

Why do I need to verify my identity?

To comply with Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Counter-Terrorist Financing (CTF) legislation, the Australian Government requires identity verification.

How is my identity kept safe?

Trade Safe Transfers has partnered with Sumsub, a trusted verification platform, to verify your identity using industry-standard security measures. Your personal information is handled securely, used only for verification, and is never shared with unauthorised third parties.

What information is needed to sign up?

To create an account, you'll first register as either a tradie or a consumer. The app will then prompt you to enter your full name, contact details, company name (if applicable) and ACN. A verification code will be sent to your email address and mobile number to confirm they belong to you. This helps protect your account and ensures only you can create and access it.

Can Trade Safe Transfers be used in other countries?

Not at present. Trade Safe Transfers is currently available only for jobs in Australia. International support is on our development roadmap.

Is Trade Safe Transfers an Australian company?

Trade Safe Transfers is proudly 100% Australian owned and operated. Our management team, customer support, sales, and day-to-day operations are all based in Australia.
